How thought seeds work

Unknowingly, daily we sow new “thought seeds”; and daily, we reap the fruit of previous thoughts.   “… for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.”  This segment of scripture quotes Galatians 6:7, where Apostle Paul highlights the spiritual principle of Sowing and Reaping.

Thoughts planted in our subconscious minds work the same way as farmers planting seeds in their fields.  When seeds are planted, farmers expect the soil to transform the seeds into plants.  The soil does not care about the type of seed that is sown.  The soil’s job is to cause every seed, regardless of its type, to grow to a state of abundance.  The growing process automatically yields a harvest of fruit that is of the same type as the original seed sown.  So how does the sowing and reaping process relate to achieving goals?

Goal achievement link to thought seed

Proverbs 23:7 of the Bible states,  “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:”  In this scripture, the term “thinketh” means to reason out, to calculate, to reckon.  All of these terms are mental activities related to the words “thought” or “think.”  The term “heart” as used in the above scripture means “the inner being of man. “  In other words, the inner being of a man becomes the summed total of the thoughts planted within his mind.

Achieving goals by planting thoughts require us not to focus our attention on the negative circumstances that may be occurring.  For example, if you have a debt problem, worrying and constantly thinking about those debts can attract more debts into your life.  Remember, Galatians 6:7, “whatever a man sows, that he will also reap?”     Each thought becomes a seed that gets planted into the subconscious mind.  Our mind then causes the seed to grow, and eventually, it produces a harvest of more debt.

To produce high yielding crops, farmers first decide on the type of harvest they want.  They then plant high-quality seeds, which improves the likelihood of a good harvest.  During the growing process, farmers expect the soil to produce an abundant harvest of fruit, which is of the same type as the seed sown.

Plant thought seeds of desired solutions

Just like farmers, we can choose the type of harvest we desire.   Also, like farmers, we can plant high-quality seeds into our minds that promote the achievement of our goals.   How? By telling our minds what to think.  Rather than focusing on the things we do not want, such as debt, we can tell our minds to think about the things we do want; debt freedom.    When we properly plant and maintain “thought seeds” for the solutions we desire, we can then expect like-kind harvests resulting from the spiritual law of Sowing and Reaping.

In the next post, I’ll explain step-by-step procedures  on how to tell your mind what to think.
